Poppy Campaign

The Royal Canadian Legion’s annual Poppy Campaign runs from the last Friday in October through to November 11. Branch 641 proudly supports this national initiative with a strong, visible presence throughout the Barrhaven community, ensuring the Poppy remains a powerful symbol of Remembrance and support for Veterans in need.

Each year, the campaign’s success depends on the dedication of our members. We are always looking for volunteers to help in a variety of meaningful ways, including:

  • serving on the Poppy Campaign Committee
  • representing the Legion in local stores during scheduled shifts
  • delivering, collecting, and maintaining Poppy donation boxes in area businesses
  • assisting with Wreath and Ribbon sales and inventory
  • counting donations at the branch
  • supporting the Remembrance Dinner at the Branch
  • supporting Remembrance Day activities at John McCrae Secondary School
  • participating in the Remembrance Day Ceremony and parade

Display locations and Poppy box placements are reviewed and updated annually, and sign-up sheets for store shifts will be posted at the Branch before the end of September.

Thank you in advance for supporting this vital campaign. Your time and commitment help ensure we can continue caring for Veterans and their families. For more information or to get involved, please contact us.

Local businesses that want to show support for Canada’s Veterans can request a Poppy donation box or a Remembrance Day Wreath.
